Before Emina became the Queensland Sale Manager for Insight Vacations, she went on an Insight Vacations trip with her parents. She enjoyed the experience so much that when a role was advertised with the company, she jumped at the chance. This is Emina’ story.
My parents decided to travel to Scandinavia on a trip of a lifetime and had asked me for an opinion on their chosen Insight Vacations, 14-day Spectacular Scandinavia and its Fjords trip, which would see them travel from Denmark through to Sweden and finish in Norway.
As a huge fan of the Scandinavian region, the more I read about the itinerary and talked about the incredible inclusions such as cruising along the beautiful, deep blue waters of the Gierangerfjord or spending a night at the picturesque Leikanger Fjord Hotel where the views of lakes and fjords flood your sight from every angle, the more I wanted to travel with them on this trip of a lifetime.
Insight Vacations offer a Young Traveller Discount for children between 5-18 years of age. Having just missed that cut off (ahem, at age 32), I was still determined to tag along with my parents and experience travelling the Insight way.
What I learned during my travels with my parents and Insight Vacations is that the unique experiences, such as visiting a family owned apple farm or riding on the Flam Railway together, would not only offer memories of a lifetime but also deepen my family relationships, by experiencing them together.
I was thrilled to have a well experienced Travel Director on board, planning the entire journey for them, as it meant that we spent less time stressing about our daily travel plans and more time enjoying quality time spent together.
One of my most treasured memories of the trip was a day spent in Bergen, Norway, walking in the rain (fun fact, it rains 300 days of the year in Bergen!) and eating fresh seafood from the markets by the ports, without a worry in sight, all thanks to Insight Vacations.
