An enjoyable cruise but it took hours to get everyone off at Phillip Island. We had priority but some people couldn't get off until 4 hours after we anchored at 8:15am. Makes it a very short visit when you need to be back on by 4pm. The food on the ship could be a lot better, and the bar service was quite slow at times. The suite was spacious.
Enjoyable cruise 1John, Australia, Apr 2024
Generally an enjoyable cruise. The suite was spacious, the service was good. But the food on P&O could be a lot better. The buffet really is pretty poor and even the restaurant food could have a lot more variety. The menu changes a lot less than on the previous cruise.
P&O Australia Day Cruise 2Gary and Susan, NSW, Australia, Jan 2024
Global Journeys were great in arranging this cruise. Unfortunately P&O (sponsors of the Australia Day events on the harbour) severely let us down. Last time (2019) we were anchored in the middle of the action. We talked this up to some of the first time cruisers with our group. This year (2024) the harbour had very little action you could see from the ...read more ship. The much vaunted "Ferry Boat Race" did not even come near the ship. It rounded Fort Denison twice and most of that view was blocked by Navy Vessel L100, giving the elite dignitaries an excellent view and the loss to those on board the Ship. Food and entertainment on board was excellent - the show on the last night was spectacular.
Excellent Holiday 2Wasantha and Geetha , ACT, Australia, Dec 2023
This was our first Cruise and we've really enjoyed. Everything was awesome and nothing to complain about. P&O staff were very welcoming and their hospitality was great. We both very happy and looking forward to book for a another cruise after the next overseas holiday.
Kiwi Adventure 1M., WA, Australia, Nov 2023
Couldn't fault service from Hannah & colleagues - prompt, efficient with good communication. P&O is not the cruise-line they once were! Shocking offshore customer service, if you can find the right place to contact prior to embarkation or post cruise. Proper English speaking service that can solve problems is required. Guest services on ship very good. ...read more Solos not catered for. Food quite OK - mixed, fusion etc. Drinks (bar/restaurant not cheap). Too much promotion of beauty goods/services. Stabilizers work well (no pitch), entertainment half and half - some too smutty. Theatres are good accom. wise. Need more variety in day e.g. sports etc.
Smooth embarkation and disembarkation and airport transfer. Med centres are far too expensive on ships. How to justify? Full of families-many too young. Dress standards frequently low. Catering to Aussies. Too many bars and drinking non stop. Infection control not good enough - no health checks prior embarkation, and if a sick person sharing cabin, other was free to come and go, whilst the sick person is isolated! Cabin shower pokey, even for a very slim person. All cabin and waiting staff very polite and pretty efficient. Grateful for refunds/credits when we didn't get to destination NZ, so spent a lot of time at sea & sickness. It was bad not being able to berth NZ, forced to Tas and only berth Hobart, then to tiny town Eden -Pt Arthur was cancelled too. But for refunds/credit, I wouldn't choose P&O Aust or the same ship again. Then only a brief close to home trip. Decor is quite nice and basically a cheap trip. They have to solve this hull problem.
New Zealand cruise 3Dave and Kathy, NSW, Australia, Nov 2023
We unfortunately didn't get to the mainland in New Zealand due to biosecurity issues with Pacific Adventure but we made the best of a bad situation for our first cruise ever. The staff, hospitality and food on the ship was remarkable. We were also satisfied with the 50 percent return of our trip. We are considering booking a New Guinea cruise sometime ...read more near April so you will probably hear from us then.
